At the ongoing New York show in North America, Subaru unveiled the Trailseeker, the new Outback, and the Solterra.

Trail Seeker
The Trailseeker is Subaru’s second BEV following the Solterra, and will be launched in North America in 2026.
It has a wagon-like form and appears to share the same hood and fenders with the Soltera.

The car has a ground clearance of 210 mm, and its powertrain consists of motors installed in the front and rear wheels, with a system output of 375 ps. In addition to X-MODE, which allows the driver to switch output control, a downhill assist system is also provided. The battery capacity is 74.7 kWh, the same as the Solterra improved version, and the range per charge is expected to exceed 415 km.

Specific specifications, such as dimensions, have not yet been announced, but it will have a larger interior and luggage space than the Solterra. The cockpit, which has a slim air conditioning duct embedded in front of the front passenger seat, emphasizes a sense of width, and is shared with the Soltera’s improved version. The cockpit is equipped with a 14-inch infotainment screen, and the rear seats also have USB ports.

Naturally, all safety features are available, including a traffic jam driving assist system, lane change assist, blind spot warning, and front cross-traffic alert.

Outback
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Outback is now in its seventh generation. The new Outback has an even more powerful look, characterized by separately mounted headlamps reminiscent of Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield and a garnish behind the rear doors.

The interior features a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 12.1-inch infotainment screen. The instrument panel has a Calm-mode that minimizes the display content for a more relaxed driving experience. The infotainment screen, on the other hand, is a standard rectangular type, rather than the vertical type used in the current Levorg.

By reviewing the seats and suspension, lateral sway has been reduced by 42% compared to the previous generation, and together with a 10% reduction in wind noise, this has ensured a less tiring environment even on long trips.

The engines mounted in the front nose are a 2.5L (180ps/24.6kg-m) and a 2.4L turbo (260ps/38.3kg-m), both mated to a CVT with 8-speed manual mode.

Solterra.
The battery capacity has been increased from 71.4 kWh to 74.7 kWh, increasing the cruising range by 25%.
Externally, the front and rear body and wheels have been changed, and illumination has been added to the CI marking. The rear features SUBARU’s rose lettering. The fenders have been changed to the body color, which is also a novelty, giving a completely new impression. It is expected to be introduced in Japan by the end of the year.
