SCOOP! Suzuki has begun to scrutinize the details of the order for 50,000 Jimmy Nomads.

Orders for the Jimny Nomad swelled to 50,000 units in just a few days after its announcement in Japan on January 30. The planned monthly sales volume is set at 1,200 units, and it will take three and a half years to eliminate all back orders, even by simple calculation, so the company stopped accepting orders as of February 3.

First, all orders in the name of dealers (demo cars) will be reassigned to general consumers.
On the other hand, there are rumors flying around that many of the orders may include orders for resale. A source in the sales industry has informed us that Suzuki has begun to examine all orders carefully so that they will be placed in the hands of customers who really want to buy them.
First, when there are multiple orders under the same name and at the same address, they are narrowed down to a single vehicle. A person familiar with the situation testified, “There was even a case where a husband and wife ordered one unit each,” and in this case, the order should be narrowed down to only one unit.
In this case, the order should be limited to only one car. In the case of orders for resale, generally no accessories, navigation systems, or dress-up items are installed, so these orders are also checked to see if they are for resale.
Also, it seems that a pledge not to resell the vehicle for one year is being considered, as in the case of the Landcruiser and Fairlady Z. However, it is doubtful how effective this would be, since the buyer would not plan to associate with the dealer after the purchase if the purpose is to resell the vehicle.

In any case, we should be careful not to resell cars in a bad-mannered manner, as the bill will be bounced back to the consumer.

As we reported in the February issue of Magazine X, Toyota is also wary that the Supra Final Edition will be purchased for resale as well, and although it is ostensibly a lottery, in reality they are thinking of selecting and screening buyers.
